The Fax

In the midst of cleaning out my office and shredding old documents, I stumbled upon a very faded fax message from 1996. (Kids, a fax (short for facsimile) is a method of transmitting scanned documents via a fax machine connected to a telephone line.)

Anyway, the fax was from my soon-to-be bride, Janet. Our wedding was just a couple of weeks away, and our wedding reception was to be held in the Georgia Dome at the Fox 97 Ultimate Oldies Concert. At the time, Randy and I were also doing a television campaign telling all of Georgia that “We Will Do Anything To Get You To Listen.” After reading Janet’s fax and laughing at her amazing sense of humor, I decided to let you, my Facebook friends, play a game of Clue and tell me what you would have done that night.
Scenario #1: Davy Jones offers us the use of his limo while Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are doing their set.

Scenario #2: Gary Lewis offers us his dressing room and stands outside the door to make sure that we are not disturbed. (Later, Gary said that was the longest two minutes of his life.)

Scenario #3: Donna Douglas wonders if there is a “cement pond” somewhere in the Dome because that sounds like it would be fun.

Scenario #4: Janet and Spiff slip away to Vango while Johnny Rivers is singing “Swayin’ to the Music.”

Of course, you may never know what we decided, as the Georgia Dome took its secrets with it when it was imploded to make room for “The Benz.”
