Spiff vs. Japanese Beetles

They are back! They seek to wreak havoc on your plants. Let the battle begin. Of course, I am referring to the annual Japanese Beetle invasion. (Much different than the British Invasion Beatles.) Up close, they look like alien creatures. But they can be defeated.

RIP
RIP

Each year, I channel my inner Mr. Miyagi from the Karate Kid, snatching these nasty creatures from midair and tossing them into a plastic container filled with water and a touch of dishwashing soap. There is no coming back from that deadly concoction. This afternoon alone, I had 23 confirmed kills. (Another 77 and I will become an Ace.) I place that plastic container filled with dead beetles on my front porch as a warning to other beetles who may attempt to chow down on our plants.

FYI, my counselor informed me that this is excellent therapy.
